PRASA RAIL

A 10 % Across The Board  Increase (genuine one this time) is captured in a draft agreement, which we believe will be accepted by our members if the reference in  the draft to specific service conditions that must be negotiated “away” ,within a specific period, could be removed from the Draft Agreement.

UTATU remains hopeful that we could end both strikes before the end of the week.

TRANSNET SALARY DISPUTE 17 May 2010 (Ref Wages 002.27.1)

The Conciliation Process has failed. The Parties could not reach a settlement, notwithstanding the fact that Labour had lowered their demand.

At 23h45, 16 May 2010, Commissioner Afzul Soobedaar informed the Parties that the process has now ended under the auspices of the CCMA.

Thus we have no other mandate than to continue our decision to strike.

Should any changes take place for whatever reason members will be informed accordingly.

We also take this opportunity to thank every member for their support to date.

STEVE HARRIS
