TRANSNET WAGE NEGOTIATIONS 2010/11 - PENDING STRIKE ACTION (7/5) Print E-mail

The final final offer of 11% across the board increase as per the attached agreement must be seriously considered by you and the attached mandate must be completed and returned before Tuesday 11 May 2010 at 12H00.

Management late this afternoon gave us the undertaking that the attached offer will be kept “open” until Tuesday 11 May’10 at 16h00 for either UTATU / SARWHU alliance or SATAWU to accept or reject.  UTATU/ SARWHU alliance gave the undertaking that we will request our members to suspend the strike action until members have decided to either accept or reject the offer.

Unfortunately SATAWU could not give the same undertaking and they will be embarking on Strike action as from Monday morning 06h00.  Meanwhile they will also arrange meetings and follow the same mandate process as UTATU / SARWHU alliance.

The attached offer could actually mean a much higher percentage for the lower grades than the 11% reflected in the offer.

For a copy of your mandate form and the wage offer please contact Head Office.

If you have any queries regarding the attached draft agreement please contact the following persons even over the weekend as we will be available around the clock.
