Metrorail: Wage Negotiations Deadlock Strike Looming |

METRORAIL: WAGE NEGOTIATIONS DEADLOCK STRIKE IS LOOMING
The parties continued with Wage Negotiations at the Bargaining Forum on 11 and 12 May 2009.
Management re iterated that the offer of 5% across the board is a final, final offer.
Taking the current economic situation in consideration labour tabled a 12.5% wage demand moving from 15% in an endeavor of good faith bargaining.
This shift from Labour did not succeed to encourage Management to put a better offer on the table, hence Labour and Management deadlock on the matter.
A dispute has been declared by Labour and you will be kept informed on any further developments. We can assure you that UTATU will protect your interest at all times.
VIVA UTATU.

TO: ALL TRANSNET EXECUTIVE COUNCIL MEMBERS AND TUR’S Re: ARTISANS Our circular letter, CL/UT/BC/MC/022/1 dated 26th November 2007 refers. A follow-up meeting was held on 29th November 2007. No agreement could be reached on some critical matters, e.g. - The 80/20% principle with regards to complexity level.
- Management’s refusal to increase the financial offer as stipulated in our CL/UT/BC/MC/022/1.
- The reduction of the 5 competency levels to 3.
- The trades listed in under the three categories.
We also questioned Management’s information which they have used to determine the salary offer, as we are of the opinion that this offer will not result in retaining any Artisans now or in the future. |
