UTATU: REPRESENTIVITY: TRANSNET PORT TERMINALS

It has come to our attention that rumors are spread that UTATU has not made the required 20% representivity within Transnet Port Terminals. Allow us to set the record straight.

UTATU is confident that we have reached the required 20%, as at the end of January 2008, we had 21% according to our records. We are awaiting management’s verification of the figures.

We have recruited 50 new members since 27 February 2008 ONLY and many more are streaming in.
To our knowledge the only union that has received notice of not acquiring the required threshold is UASA. To those that are spreading rumors please be so kind to supply this Union with a copy of the letter from Transnet confirming UTATU’S notice.
